  • Skilled in group presentations or workshop instruction and/or facilitation.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.,

  • Ability to promote and market CareerSource programs and services.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to prepare reports to include recording, evaluating and analyzing data.

THE HIRED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING

  • Under direct functional supervision of the CareerSource Board, performs highly complex and varied professional functions to promote employability for job seekers and workforce development for employers served by the regional CareerSource Development System.

  • Provides the range of Wagner-Peyser labor exchange services according to state and federal policies and procedures; conducts individual interviews with program customers for eligibility review determinations to determine relevant job search facts and to identify employment needs; explains and clarifies re-employment policies and procedures for unemployment compensation claimants, employers and other appropriate persons to provide an understanding of rights and responsibilities, employment related options and other relative information.

  • Assess jobseekers for job readiness utilizing tests to determine aptitudes, interest, personal characteristics, educational and work history demographics; assist jobseekers in a resource room setting monitor computer, fax, copier and telephone usage for job search activities, register computer users as required by center and provide tracking information and reports to Administrator. Provide one-on-one resume assistance for jobseekers.

  • Performs accurate, timely required data collection functions and ensures proper entry in EF (or the appropriate management information system); monitors performance and production reports to ensure that relevant performance standards are met.

  • Assesses and identifies customers in need of intensive services. Provides follow-up case management to customers Provide individualized or group specialized counseling services to targeted/contracted groups (e.g. dislocated workers, veterans, welfare transition participants, etc.) utilizing standardized counseling techniques which will assist jobseekers in career transition, goals and employability plans for entrance into employment.

THIS POSITION HAS THE FOLLOWING JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing to work evenings and/or Saturdays to ensure access and communication with employer and job seeker customers.
  • Successful completion of Florida Certified Workforce Professional Tier I Training within first 6 months of employment.
  • Required to travel within the region and must provide own transportation.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS THAT HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct experience with Wagner-Peyser job seeker services
  • Direct experience with Reemployment Services

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
