The Work You Will Do:

The Employment Security Representative I provides a range of Wagner-Peyser labor exchange services according to state and federal policies and procedures; conducts individual interviews with program customers for eligibility review determinations to determine relevant job search facts and to identify employment needs; explains and clarifies re-employment policies and procedures for unemployment compensation claimants, employers and other appropriate persons to provide an understanding of rights and responsibilities, employment related options and other relative information.

Your
Responsibilities:

Under direct functional supervision of the CareerSource Flagler Volusia Board:

Conducts orientation and re-employment sessions (RES) informing customers about labor market information, job qualifications, employer requirements and training opportunities available through the one-stop systems and other resources; conducts skills assessment testing; assists job seekers by using a variety of computerized and manual resources to identify suitable employment opportunities for which they may qualify.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with job seekers and other training and employment personnel; facilitates referrals of qualified applicants and ensures that the conditions of job orders are met.

Assesses and identifies customers in need of intensive services.
Provides follow-on case management to customers.

Performs accurate, timely required data collection functions and ensures proper entry in EFM (or the appropriate management information system); monitors performance and production reports to ensure that relevant performance standards are met.

Performs other duties as required/assigned.

May be required to travel locally and must provide own transportation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge/experience using Microsoft applications.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state and national law enforcement records.

Minimum

  • High School Diploma
  • Some travel may be required, approx.
    10%.
  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.

Preferred -

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Professional or nonprofessional experience in areas related to employment security, or administrative experience, or reemployment assistance policy may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.

  • Two years experience in reemployment assistance policy.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
