Physician (Primary Care Section Chief - Daytona Beach)

The Section Chief, in conjunction with the CMO and ACOS Ambulatory Care, will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling, and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support, and administrative program. This is a supervisory/leadership position that will report directly to the CMO, Daytona Beach Outpatient Clinic. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and leading Primary Care/PACT model transformation at the Daytona Beach OPC and other sites as assigned which includes participation in various facility committees. Emphasis will be placed on meeting facility, VISN & VHA strategic goals to include improved access to care, improved efficiency, customer service excellence, self-care & self-management for Veterans, chronic illness management, prevention, & fostering Veteran health & well-being through use of Personal Health Planning. This position will require sound clinical skills, knowledge, & experience in Primary Care operations, flexibility & the ability to role-model & lead change. The transformation within Primary Care/PACT is intended to improve Veteran satisfaction, quality of care, safety, & eventually improved health outcomes, & reduced healthcare costs. The position will require a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who will be required to collaborate with the Primary Care Section Chiefs and Primary care supervisors at other locations within Orlando VAHCS to lead forward primary care/PACT operations. Collaborative relationships will also include partnerships within the facility with Nursing services, HAS, Integrative Health, Social Services, Pharmacy, Women's Health, Mental Health, & others. Direct patient care duties will be assigned. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of annual proficiency reports. OPPE/FPPE completion and review, per policy. PACT/EPRP/SAIL/other data review and management. Leave and timecard management and administration. Clinic profile management. Collaboration with the patient advocates to address and resolve inquiries/complaints. Preparation of controlled correspondence for Congressional/VISN/VACO inquiries. Recruitment/retention of Primary Care providers. Disciplinary action, as required. Collaboration with HAS, Nursing and other PACT leadership in Primary Care to effect clinical operations. Oversight of PACT implementation, in collaboration with HAS/Nursing leadership and other PACT disciplines. Responsible for continuous improvement projects within Primary Care. Responsible for Primary Care staff engagement and development. Functioning within his/her assigned scope of Primary Care at the Daytona Beach outpatient clinic. Work Schedule:

Citizenship:
Be a Citizen of the United States. Education:
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Licensure:
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country. Residency/Fellowship Training:
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. English Language Proficiency:
Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Reference:

Must pass a pre-employment physical examination as required by VA Handbook 5019. This examination is administered by VA Occupational Health. This position requires:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
