Licensed Mental Health Counselor

The Mental Health Counselor serves on Mental Health or Medical Center committees or task forces, as appropriate; participates in ongoing performance improvement initiatives. Some of the duties for this position include, but are not limited to; Provides assessment services to Veterans as needed or assigned, in collaboration with multidisciplinary mental health staff. Provides counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families in collaboration with multidisciplinary mental health staff to serve Veterans as needed or assigned. Provides group counseling services in collaboration with multidisciplinary mental health staff for all Veterans seeking mental health treatment. Consults with Medical Center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Willingly accepts additional and special assignments that are necessary to meet program goals or Veteran needs. Completes all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center healthcare system in a timely and accurate manner, as appropriate. Provides case management services to assist Veteran patients to gain access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. Work Schedule:
The selectee may be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the new Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs. Functional Statement Title:

Citizenship:
Citizen of the United States. Education:
Hold a master's degree in mental health counseling, or a related field, from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Examples of related mental health counseling fields include, but are not limited to, Addiction Counseling; Community Counseling; Gerontology Counseling; Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling; and Marriage and Family Therapy. A doctoral degree in mental health counseling may not be substituted for the master's degree in mental health counseling. Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to LPMHC positions in the GS-101 series in VHA must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to independently practice mental health counseling, which includes diagnosis and treatment. English Language Proficiency:
LPMHCs must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005. References:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
