Senior Social Worker

The selected Senior Social Worker will independently provide a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and integrate it into an overall plan of care to document the Veteran's psychosicial issues and planned intervention into the interdisciplinary treatment plan. The plan is formulated with input from the Veteran, family members, and significant others, whenever possible. The goal of the assessment is to highlight the Veteran's strengths, limitation, internal/external supports, and service needs in order to optimize the Veteran's functional status and safely maintain the Veteran in his/her home. The selectee must posses the practice skills to independently make a psychosocial diagnosis and offer psychosocial interventions, and then measure outcomes of these interventions. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to; Participates in, and can lead, weekly interdisciplinary care planning meetings. Coordinates community-based services, including information and referral for additional services from other VA programs, other government programs, and community agency programs. Provides education related to VA and community resources, entitlements, and will refer Veterans/families to the appropriate team for identified health education needs. Identifies and prioritizes high-risk patients and provides case management services. Provides crisis intervention services, seeking to address the cause as well as the presenting complaint, coordinates family conferences, and serves as liaison to family members. Has working knowledge and experience in the use of medical and mental health diagnosis, disabilities and treatment procedures. Provides consultation services to other staff regarding the psychosocial needs of Veterans and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and adherence to treatment plans. Independently works with patients and families who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical, and social problems. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:
The selectee may be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the new Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs. Functional Statement Title:

United States Citizenship Education:
Must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to http:

Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the Master's Degree level. (For those who have a Florida LCSW license, you must be registered with the state as a Qualified Supervisor in order to provide supervision for licensure or specialty certification. All others must meet the requirements of their state of licensure to be able to provide supervision for licensure.) English Language:
Must be proficient in spoken and written English
Experience:
Must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice. References:

The position requires performance of work which involves light physical effort, such as that involved in lifting light files, bending, standing, reaching, operating office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax machine, scanner, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
