Clinical Psychologist (PRRC)

This psychologist reports clinically to the PRRC Program Manager. The psychologist reports administratively to the Psychology Program Manager. S/he will report to the Psychology Program Manager and/or Chief of Psychology for discipline-specific areas of practice. The incumbent is expected to adhere to service standards regarding matters of timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with procedures for quality and quantity of work produced. The clinical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The incumbent provides direct patient care as a psychologist to Veterans in the process of intake or enrolled in the PRRC. The incumbent will establish and maintain therapeutic relationships and exercise professional judgment to provide treatment for veterans. The psychologist provides a full range of diagnostic and evaluation services, especially in the areas of general psychological evaluation or emotional and behavioral problems and focused on cognitive assessments; Provides a full range of psychological interventions consistent with training and expertise, with special emphasis on brief and evidence-based interventions found to be effective in treating mental health diagnoses Facilitates patient and family education appropriate to the PRRC setting and the specific presenting mental or behavioral health issues; Provides consultation services for VA and non-VA staff to maximize the effectiveness of their interventions; Provides expertise and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team. Other duties as assigned. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligible requirements in accordance with VHA Policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship Education:
(1) Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The specialty area of the degree must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed. AND (2) Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that has been accredited by APA. Exceptions:
(1) new VHA psychology internship programs that are in the process of applying for APA accreditation are acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement, provided that such programs were sanctioned by the VHA Central Office Program Director for Psychology and the VHA Central Office of Academic Affiliations at the time that the individual was an intern and (2) VHA facilities who offered full one-year pre-doctoral internships prior to PL 96-151 (pre-1979) are considered to be acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement. Licensure:
Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia English Language Proficiency:
Psychologists must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j.
Experience:
At least (2) year of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-12 level. Preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
