Summary:
This Nurse Manager position will be responsible and accountable for planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating nursing care, and supervising nursing personnel who provide Mental Health care to veterans at the Daytona Beach Outpatient Clinic. He/She will also be responsible for nursing personnel within the Daytona Specialty Clinics as well (pain, wound, urology, orthopedics, rheumatology etc.). This Nurse Manager will provide clinical and administrative leadership, serve as a link between nursing personnel and other disciplines, and implement the vision, mission, plans and standards of Nursing Service and the Medical Center. He/she will collaborate with executive nursing leadership to contribute to strategic planning, innovation, recruitment and retention of nurses. This Nurse Manager will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and act as a technical, clinical, and administrative resource to nursing personnel and other allied disciplines in interpreting and applying policies and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for assuring compliance with Joint Commission and other internal/external regulatory agencies and for the implementation of actions to meet established performance measures. This Nurse Manager will report directly to the Chief Nurse for Mental Health, VAMC Orlando. Work Schedule:
Normal work days/hours will be Monday-Friday, 7:
30 AM to 4:
00 PM, with work day/hours flexibility required as administrative and/or clinical demands require. Position Requirements/
Qualifications:
US Citizenship required; Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia; A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required; Previous, recent experience in a first-line nursing management role is highly desirable; Demonstrated ability in previous assignments to appropriately set priorities and make critical decisions in stressful environments; Demonstrated dependability for duty and flexibility in work assignments/hours in previous assignments. Preferred
Experience:
A Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred; Previous Mental Health clinical experience highly desirable; National certification in Nursing Administration and/or Mental Health Nursing is preferred. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
