Position Description Job Summary The Optimization Specialist understands the clinical IT optimization needs and opportunities, and by proactively observing clinician and physician processes and use of clinical information systems, is able to actively assist in moving caregivers to best practices within the Cerner System.
The ability to communicate with all levels of Hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff and is essential for this position.
___________________________________________________________________________ RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as an active member of the field optimization team, dedicated to focus locally at the Hospital level on the optimization of workflow, streamlined care processes, and promoting best practice use of the Cerner System.
Conducts intentional regular rounding to all clinical and ancillary departments to support adoption.
Works directly on Optimization initiatives assigned by IS Optimization Team leadership Conducts specified optimization audits and reports findings and recommendations to Regional Clinical Informatics Manager and Optimization Team Monitors data and outcome measures to evaluate user adoption of current and newly implemented systems and functionality.
Reviews reports, critically assesses data in relation to processes to improve clinical outcomes and IT system changes Collaborates with the facility Performance Improvement team and/or Quality Department to obtain focused concerns that may relate to system functionalities.
Leads and facilitates focus groups and meetings as needed following established methodologies Education and Certifications Bachelors of Science in Healthcare related field or must obtain; BS Nursing preferred Certification in Clinical Informatics; or willingness to become certified Registered Nurse prefe Source:
