Environmental Health & Safety and Industrial Security Specialist

OverviewWe have an immediate opening for an Environmental Health & Safety/Industrial Security Specialist to join us in our Daytona Beach, FL location. The selected individual will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the implementation of an effective EHS management system which will ensure ongoing compliance with L3Harris EHS standards, regulations and culture. This individual will actively collaborate and participate with the EHS team to provide EHS project technical support and coordinate activities and processes across the site. Will coordinate and oversee critical EHS projects and/or programs including but not limited to:
ergonomics, job hazard analysis (JHA), perrsonal protective equipment (PPE) program., hazard communication, regulated/hazardous waste management; storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), minor source air permits, spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) and sustainability. Will also assist the facility security officer (FSO) in the day to day management of the industrial security program by delivering required annual training based on NISPOM rule to cleared employees, ensure proper processing of incoming and outgoing visit certifications, utilize and update the security information management system (SIMS) to ensure accuracy, prepare, maintain and protect official records auditable by U.S. Government representatives, utilize and ensure updates to the National Industrial Security System (NISS) and manage access of support vendors, consultants, and contactors to the facility.Essential Functions75%Supporting and facilitating the implementation of an effective EHS management system that will ensure ongoing compliance towards L3Harris EHS standards and regulatory compliance, while improving site EHS culture. The EHS member will actively collaborate and participate with the EHS team to provide EHS project technical support and coordinate activities and processes across the site.Coordinating, or supporting critical EHS projects and/or programs including but not limited to:
Ergonomics; Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment Program (PPE); Hazard Communication; Regulated/Hazardous Waste Management; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP); minor source Air Permit; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC); Sustainability.Driving the sustainability program by establishing best practices, communicating changes, tracking and measuring effectiveness and reductions in Solid Waste, Water, and Electrical reductions/increases.Supporting incident investigations, determining root causes, developing corrective actions, preparing EHS alerts, and conducting closure verification activities.Supporting EHS inspections, self-assessments, and audits for both environmental and health and safety compliance.Assisting with various types of sampling for both environmental and human exposure purposes (including associated analytical interpretation and report-writing).Coordinating risk assessments and working to deploy corrective measures to continuously reduce site hazard risk profile.25%Assist the Facility Security Officer in the day to day management of the Industrial Security programDelivers required annual training based on NISPOM Rule to cleared employees.Ensure proper processing of incoming and outgoing visit certificationsUtilizes and updates the Security Information Management System (SIMS) to ensure accuracyPrepare, maintain and protect official records auditable by U.S. Government representatives.Utilizes and ensure updates to the National Industrial Security System (NISS).Manage access of support vendors, consultants, and contactors to the facility.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of related experience and education4
years of prior related experienceKnowledge/experience with OSHA Standards for General Industry (i.e., Fall Protection, Hazard Communication)Knowledge of industrial security practicesFamiliarity with sustainability principles and applicationAbility to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writingComputer skills to include MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookPreferred
