The primary duties include, but are not limited to, conducting periodic daily airfield and terminal facility inspections and/or sweeps, documenting and reporting airfield conditions and/or discrepancies; preforming random security screenings of vehicles and personnel; coordinating and responding to aircraft accidents or emergencies; coordinating and responding to airport security incidents, managing special programs as assigned, mitigating airport wildlife hazards within the airport operating environment, coordinating and monitoring airfield construction activity and assist airport tenants or guest with request for service or information.

) Conduct daily periodic inspections of the airfield surfaces, safety areas, clear zones, approach zones, ramp areas, perimeter fence lines and surrounding airspace to ensure compliance with federal safety standards.
Assist with the reporting of changes in conditions at the airport to include issuing Notice's to Airmen (NOTAM's) and disseminating the information to air carriers, tenants, and airport users.
Assist with and coordinating the opening or closing of runways, taxiways and aprons to support airfield activities, operations or construction.
Assist with; responds to and coordinates emergency response agencies, personnel and equipment to respond to airport and aircraft emergences, accidents, alerts and/or airport security incidents.
Assist with coordinating, planning and monitoring non-routine airfield activity to include reassigning air carrier gates, static display events, diversion aircraft parking, dignitary arrivals/departures, military aircraft parking and special events.
Assist with monitoring and providing escorts for vehicles, personnel and equipment entering the Airport's secured areas or the Airport Operations Area (AOA) as needed.
Assist with maintaining airfield surface markings to include the cleaning, removal and repainting of surface markings using pavement grinding and painting equipment in accordance with federal requirements.
Assist with coordinating between airport departments and personnel, airport users, tenants and guest to address and assist with request for service and/or support from the Airport.
Assist with completing, reviewing and transmitting Personal Protected Information (PPI) and Security Sensitive Information (SSI) reports or information in compliance with applicable rules and laws regarding the protection and transmission of sensitive and personal information.
Monitor and assist with airport and airfield construction projects, special events and tenant functions as needed.
Ensure the Airport's and airport users' compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws; regulations; ordinances; policies and procedures.
Ensure the Airport and tenant leasehold areas are operated in a safe and secure manner in the best interests of public safety and security.
Assist with monitoring and operating the Airport's video surveillance and monitoring system.
Create, update, review and submit daily airport activity logs, incident reports and forms as required concerning airport activity and incidents.
Uses firearms and live ammunition to mitigation and or depredate potentially hazardous wildlife in accordance with Airport's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan safely and effectively.
Attend work on a continuous and regular basis.
Respond to emergency situations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Airfield Management, Aviation Safety, Aviation Security, Law Enforcement, Public Protection or similarly related field with a minimum of one (1) year of operational experience, working in a commercial or military aviation environment with direct experience in reading, understanding and applying federal regulations as they apply to aviation safety and/or security in the commercial airport environment.
OR Associate's degree in Aviation, Airfield Management, Aviation Safety, Aviation Security, Law Enforcement, Public Protection or similarly related field with a minimum of three (3) years of operational experience; working in a commercial or military aviation environment with direct experience in reading, understanding and applying federal regulations as they apply to aviation safety and/or security in the commercial airport environment.
OR Graduation from high school or possession of a GED and five (5) years of operational experience; working in a commercial or military aviation environment with direct experience in reading, understanding and applying federal regulations as they apply to aviation safety and/or security in the commercial airport environment.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience in aviation or security may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
License and certification requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license at time of appointment.
May be required to obtain a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger Endorsement within two (2) years of appointment.
Must have or obtain the Airport Certified Employee (ACE) accreditation through the American Association of Airport Executive (AAAE) within the first three (3) years or as directed by Supervisor.
Must successfully complete Wildlife Hazard Management Training to include Pyrotechnic and Firearms training within six (6) months of appointment and maintain certification.
May be required to obtain an Airport Security Coordinator Certification within two (2) years of appointment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of airport operating procedures to include airside and landside operations.
Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations, which apply to the use of airport facilities, property, and land use agreements.
Knowledge of and ability to enforce airport security regulations and operating procedures in an impartial manner outlined in CFR 14 part 139, CFR 14 part 77, TSR 1540 and 1542, state and local ordinances, and other applicable codes and regulations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external agencies and with the general public.
Ability to work without close supervision and to make independent judgments based on established policies and safety standards.
Ability to work and multi-task in a high stress environment during emergency and non-emergency situations.
Must be proficient in the use computers, electronic devices, and associated software to disseminate critical information to airport supervision, tenants, and outside agencies; organize and maintain electronic based records; issue notifications of change in airfield conditions.
Knowledge of safety standards, federal regulations, and publications established by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ATSM), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and similar agencies or organizations.
Knowledge of safety procedures and standards on airports during construction.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, engineering plans, blueprints and charts, technical instructions, and aeronautical charts.
Ability to maintain multiple and mutually respectful relationships with a wide spectrum of co-workers, agencies, airport tenants, and the general public.
Knowledge of runway design criteria, aircraft operations, and requirements.
Knowledge of airport engineering, master planning, construction planning, airport zoning, property management, noise mitigation, maintenance procedures and best practices.
Knowledge of airport lighting systems, electrical systems, pavement systems, marking systems, signage and navigational aids and must be able to resolve issues with these and other airport facilities as problems arise through communication and follow-up with maintenance or construction support activities.
Ability to use firearms safely and effectively for the purposes of wildlife mitigation.
Ability to understand and apply digital communications and computing techniques to maximize productivity and communication of all department personnel, contract employees and supporting agencies.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are required for this position.

Must be able to relocate to other county locations based upon operational needs.
